COPPICE
FOALS 2011
These
are the performance ponies of the future and will be hard to find
as adults
when you're ready to start ridden and driven showing.
Invest now in
your future performance pony and you won't get left behind.
We
covered only two mares in 2010. Like most breeders we are
struggling with the recession and its impact on the pony market. As
we don't breed just to sell foals and as we have too much pride in our
ponies to sell them at silly low prices, we often hold onto our
youngsters, resulting in potential overstocking if we're not
careful. It's very hard to plan ahead in these difficult times - you
can't just switch breeding stock on and off, you're always looking at
least a year ahead. However, times is certainly 'ard so we've
reluctantly taken the decision not to cover any mares in 2011 and there
will be no Coppice foals in 2012. When the market eventually recovers we have all our stock in place ready to increase the numbers
sensibly when the time is right.
In
the meantime we have some lovely youngsters for sale so have a look on the
Youngsters page and on the Ridden Ponies page for adult ponies.
We
look forward to meeting you this year or next!
